OWATONNA — Prosecutors say two men accused of fatally shooting a man in Steele County believed he was a drug informant.

The two men are expected to make initial court appearances in Steele County District Court on Thursday.

The body of 22-year-old Richard Jurgensen, of Medford, was found on the side of the road in rural Steele County on June 26. Investigators say the victim was found with his hands bound and had been shot numerous times.

The Owatonna People's Press reports law enforcement records show no mention of Jurgensen as a police informant. Both men were arrested Tuesday.
