There was another inmate on correctional officer attack Sunday at the prison in Faribault. KSTP-TV has reported that two corrections officers were injured as the result of an assault Sunday night.

The two injured officers were taken to the hospital but have since been released. The inmate was immediately put in restrictive housing, and the facility is currently in lockdown.

This is the second time in three months at the prison that an inmate has attacked a corrections officer/s. The first incident happened back in September.

The matter is currently under investigation.

This is just the most recent attack of an inmate on a correctional officer over the last 6 months. This attack follows the deaths of two Minnesota corrections officers on duty in recent months.

Joseph Gomm was killed while on duty at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater in July. Joseph Parise died after suffering a medical emergency following an incident in which he had rushed to help a fellow guard under attack at Oak Park Heights on Sept. 24.
