What a great way to wrap up a summer's worth of Faribault Main Street Car Cruise Nights. It was also the Car Club Showdown, with several car clubs vying for the ridiculously huge custom-made trophy. Some of the clubs displaying their custom and vintage vehicles included the Faribo Drag Ons, Sundowners, Open Wheel Cruisers, MN Challengers, Heavy Hitters and the NIVA Car Club. The Faribo Drag Ons were the Showdown winners with the most vehicles in attendance and took home the trophy.

With all these car clubs came several cars and trucks, and they lined Central Avenue from Fourth Street to Division. Hopefully you were able to get downtown to see all these vehicles as there was quite a variety makes and models. This event was the largest Car Cruise that Faribault Main Street has hosted so far and I'm looking forward to seeing it grow even larger next year.

One of the other popular features of this Car Cruise was the Gopher Motorsports – UMN Formula SAE race car and team and the University of Minnesota Solar Vehicle Project and team. Car show attendees were able to get up close and check out these cutting-edge vehicles and talk with members of each team.

I had a great time playing oldies and chatting with everyone that stopped by and finally shut things down a little after nine o'clock. I'll see you next May when we rev up another season of Faribault Main Street Car Cruise Nights.
