If you've been in downtown Faribault recently you probably saw the sign in the All Seasons Thrift Store indicating everything in the store must go.

All Seasons Community Services Director Steve Martin tells KDHL the lease is up the end of this month and he is retiring. Martin actually said "again" when talking about his retirement.

He was talked into taking the director's position by the late Harold Nielsen, founder of Foldcraft in Kenyon and the founder of Third World Friends, which became All Seasons Community Services.

Martin added they would like a larger store and a more modern facility than the store they've used in downtown Faribault. The present store is 7,500 square feet and they would minimally like a 10,000-square-foot space.

He said they've been looking for a different home in Faribault for the past year and added if they don't find a place in Faribault they like, then a store could possibly open in New Prague or Owatonna.

Martin wants to meet with the board next week before doing an interview with KDHL.

I asked when his last day is and he said he has agreed to stay on until they find a new director, and that replacement could be either a full- or part-time position.

Martin has been a part-time director and says he really enjoys the work.
