Are you concerned with our enviroment? Would you like to get involved but don't really know where to start?

The Cannon River Watershed Partnership would like to invite you to attend several local events concerning our waterways. DOWNSTREAM, an Environmental Film Series, is coming to Northfield on February 11, 18 and 25. Each evening's screening will be focused on a specific theme, and will be followed by a community discussion with activists, filmmakers and producers, or other local experts.

This Saturday's (Feb. 11) event is from 4:30-7PM at Tomson Hall on the St. Olaf College campus and is free and open to the public with a donation of $10 appreciated to help support future events. The theme is "Enviromental Justice" and will cover how environmental issues affect different people around the world in different ways. They will be showing the feature-length movie "This Changes Everything" and two locally produced short films put together by Carleton and St. Olaf students. Members of the Young Peoples Action Coalition will be there to talk about their activism and how they got started.

The purpose of these events is to connect local issues and perspectives to a larger global picture, to help inspire both discussion and action in our community.
