Filmmaker Lance Bangs teamed up with The Creators Project over on Vice to debut this exclusive and beautiful short film, in which Bangs interviews a wealth of talented artists inspired by Spike Jonze's film 'Her.' Actresses like Charlyne Yi and Olivia Wilde are featured, as well as musician James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem and comedian Marc Maron of the WTF Podcast and 'Maron' on IFC -- all of them offering incredibly personal reactions to the film and perspectives on relationships and technology in the short, titled "Love in the Modern Age."
Last night the Disney channel debuted a new sneak peek of their upcoming villain origin film 'Maleficent' during the premiere of the TV movie 'Cloud 9.' We're not entire sure what the difference is between a "sneak peek" and a trailer, but we do love the charming intro, featuring footage from the original animated 'Sleeping Beauty' film, which transitions beautifully into the live-action world of 'Maleficent' and Angelina Jolie's villainess.
A newlywed couple (Allison Miller and 'Friday Night Lights' star Zach Gilford) returns home from their honeymoon with an unexpected pregnancy, but as the husband documents their lives, the pair begin to notice that something isn't quite right with the baby. 'Devil's Due' is the latest entry in the found footage horror genre, and while it does have its fair amount of creative visual effects, the thrills are hardly thrilling in this paint by numbers occult chiller.
Dave Madden, beloved star of the classic television series 'The Partridge Family,' has passed away at the age of 83. Madden played the role of the family's oft put-upon band manager Reuben Kincaid, who often was annoyed by the shenanigans of young Danny, played by former child star Danny Bonaduce. Madden was also the star of the '70s show 'Laugh-In.'
'The Conjuring' was the biggest horror film since 'The Exorcist,' so it was hardly surprising when we learned that not only was New Line planning a sequel, but a spinoff as well. The latter focuses on the unlikely breakout star of the film, a spooky little doll named Annabelle, and now she's found a pair of friends to scare the hell out of in her very own movie.
Just when you thought you'd seen the last of Ben Kingsley's Mandarin (or Trevor Slattery, rather), Marvel has pulled him back in for an all new One-Shot for their upcoming release of 'Thor: The Dark World' on Blu-ray. In the new short film, Slattery sits down with an inquisitive reporter for his first interview since landing in prison, and we've got a sneak peek at Kingsley reprising his role in the first clip.
It didn't take very long for things to get downright nutty at tonight's Golden Globe awards. Following a hilarious opening from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and a super awkward but totally endearing acceptance speech from Jennifer Lawrence, veteran actress Jacqueline Bisset took the stage to accept an award for Best Supporting Actress for a mini-series or TV movie for her performance in 'Dancing on the Edge.' And then things got pretty crazy.
Word broke last month that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who made his directorial debut with 'Don Jon,' will next tackle a big screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's gothic comic book classic 'Sandman.' Since then, we haven't heard much, but now Gordon-Levitt has opened up a bit about his plans for the film in a new interview. So what can we expect from this highly-anticipated project? Something "spectacular," he promises.
While 'Star Wars: Episode 7' has been gearing up for production, plenty of names have been rumored to have taken meetings with J.J. Abrams for roles in the upcoming trilogy. Now comes word of three actors whom Abrams has been eyeing for a possible leading role: Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving, and 'Girls' star Adam Driver. And we've also got some details on Abrams' reworked script, which is said to focus more heavily on Luke, Leia, and Han.
Here's some pretty big news for Golden Globes weekend: Quentin Tarantino has apparently finished the script for his upcoming western film, which is reportedly titled 'The Hateful Eight,' and, if the rumors are true, he's already eyeing actors for two of the lead roles: Christoph Waltz (which would make sense), and Bruce Dern (which would make us so, so happy).
