Mike Eiler

I was born, raised & have lived my entire life in Faribault. I attended Brown College (it was called Brown Institute at the time). I started as a part-time announcer at KDHL about a year after I graduated and transitioned to Power 96. About 7 years ago I quit my full-time job at Sheldahl in Northfield and accepted the job as Program Director & Morning Show Host. During the last 7 years I’ve met a lot of wonderful people & been a part of many fun events. I can honestly say that this is the only job I’ve ever had that I don’t look at the clock & think… “Oh man, I’ve still got 4 hours to go.” I love music and have such a huge collection of CD’s & albums (there’s nothing like the snap, crackle & pop of vinyl) that I had to rent storage just have a place to put them. When I’m not attending station events, I’m spending time with my 4 wonderful grandchildren, traveling with my beautiful wife, or just chillin’ at home surfing the internet & watching “Big Bang Theory.”

"Lunatic Fringe" is the single they're remembered most for, but yesterday I chose "What Have You Got to Do (To Get Off Tonight)" from the same album, 1981's, As Far as Siam. This si

Power 96 Cool One Recap: Sweet

Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One came from Sweet. This British glam-rock group formed in 1968 and scored their first hit, called "Funny Funny," in 1971, a bubblegum tune in the style of the Archies. Over the course of the next two years they transformed themselves into a more hard rocking band with hits like "Ballroom Blitz," "Fox on the Run" and yesterday's "Action
