Be Like Mike and Win Kiss Tickets

I've been a huge Kiss fan since junior high, that's middle school for all you kiddies out there. I was part of the AV Club, or Audio Visual Club, and before school each morning we would hang out in the projector storage room and listen to various albums by an assortment of artists. This is where I first learned who Cheech and Chong were and this is where I was introduced to the hard rocking sound of Kiss. It was love at first listen and over the years I've seen them several times and have most of their albums.

Seeing Kiss live is more of an extravaganza than concert, and they usually put on a visually stunning spectacle that you'll remember for years afterward. I'd really like you to be a part of that. To that end, Power 96 is giving you a chance to go but we wanted to have a little fun with it.

Power 96 is giving away two pairs of Kiss tickets for their August 1 show in Mankato. But to do that you'll have to smear a little make-up on your face and re-create your favorite Kiss character for a chance to win. Now I can't win the tickets, but I thought if I'm going to ask you to do it, then maybe I should do it too. So I enlisted the aid of our web mistress, Tamara, she picked up some supplies and dropped by the studio this morning and made my face up like Paul Stanley's Starchild character as I half blindly made my way through the morning show (I couldn't wear my glasses while she was creating her masterpiece). I think it turned out pretty good for the first try. Okay, maybe it had a bit of a Heath Ledger as The Joker look to it, but now you know it doesn't have to be perfect

Pick your favorite member of Kiss and re-create their face on your face with make-up as best as you can, snap some pictures and send them to Power 96 at pics@power96radio.com. Power 96 listeners will vote for two winners, one winner online and one winner during this year’s Rice County Fair, July 19-24. Deadline to submit photos is this Monday, July 18. Please make sure to include your contact information (name, email address and phone number) in case we have questions and so we can notify winners. Photos will be posted starting Tuesday, July 19, at the KDHL/Power 96 booth during the Rice County Fair and on the Power 96 website. People may vote for their favorite, with the photo(s) receiving the most votes winning a pair of tickets. Our online winner and fair vote winner to be tallied, notified and announced Monday, July 25.

Good luck to you and remember, the main thing is have fun with it. I was a little leery of covering my face with a bunch of make-up, but it ended up being fun and was an interesting new experience that really made my morning. Although I didn't go outside, I didn't want to scare the neighborhood kids.
