The Defeat of Jesse James Days celebration started today with the with the Joseph Lee Heywood Graveside Memorial Service and Distinguished Service Award Banquet. This event-filled festival continues through this Sunday, September 11, and is capped off by their huge Grand Parade at 2PM.

Unfortunately due to the constant rain, and more of it in the forecast, the Defeat of Jesse Jame Days committee has elected to move this year's carnival to the empty K-Mart parking lot in Dundas. This venue will allow for enough room to set up all the rides and allow for plenty of parking. They'll also be providing a shuttle to get festivalgoers out to the carnival. The car show on Saturday has moved from Riverside Park to a grassy spot by the Village on the Cannon, which is just a short distance away from the original site.

Find out about these changes and more at the Defeat of Jesse James Days website or you can visit their Facebook page.
