Big Hats Big Hearts at the Paradise Center for the Arts

I recently had a chance to attend the Big Hats Big Hearts Annual Auction and Kentucky Derby Viewing Party at the Paradise Center for the Arts in historic downtown Faribault! 

This event has been on my radar for some time, but I had never had the chance to go. This year, I was generously gifted tickets, and luckily, my schedule allowed me to attend the sixth annual event. Big Hats Big Hearts serves as a fundraiser for the Paradise Center for the Arts, and hosts a silent auction followed by a live auction, both with a great range of products, services and experiences. Up for bid were pottery classes, golfing trips, tickets to future events at the Paradise Center for the Arts, meals prepared by local celebrities, wine and beer tastings, salon services and much more.

I had never attended before, but I knew that much like at Churchill Downs, the attendees would be dressed to the nines and boasting fabulous hats, and my expectations were not only met, but possibly surpassed. Some of the hats were amazing! I dressed accordingly and cruised downtown in time to enjoy a slice of cake, take in the auction items, peruse the hat-themed art gallery exhibit and sip a mint julep before watching the greatest two minutes in sports.

It was a fun event that helped to support a huge asset to this community, and something I would certainly encourage you to check out next year!
