The St. Louis County Sheriff's office said a boat crash on Saturday near Cotton took the life of a Burnsville woman. The sheriff's office said the crash happened on Dinham Lake in Ellsberg Township at 11:16PM Saturday. Dinham Lake is a few miles from Cotton, and about 40 miles north of Duluth.

They reported that a boat with four people on board struck a dock and a boat lift. One person went into the water and was rescued, and was taken to St. Mary's in Duluth, with injuries reported as life-threatening. Two other people went to Essentia Virginia Regional Medical Center. The fourth occupant refused medical transport.

Sunday night it was reported that one of the injured, 54-year-old Ann Marie Delanghe of Burnsville, had died from her injuries.

The boat driver is being investigated for criminal vehicular homicide as the sheriff's office says night-time operation, speed and alcohol are all believed to be factors in the crash.
