We would all like to see this happen: The Vikings advancing to the next round of the playoffs. But according to past history, the odds are not in the Vikings' favor.

The two teams have met 14 times since 1976. The Vikings won that match-up at the old Met 27-21. The Vikings last won in 2009, when Brett Favre was the quarterback. This year the Seahawks came in to TCF Stadium and embarrassed the Vikings 38-7. That was just on December 6. Seattle leads the series 9 games to 5, outscoring the Vikings 374-324.

In my opinion, the Vikes will have to play their best game of the year. The pass protection from the line is going to have to be way better than it was against Green Bay, and I'm sorry guys (I mean Adrian Peterson and Cordarelle Patterson), it's the playoffs. You can't fumble the football. The TV showed shots of Patterson smiling after he made that fumble. What's up with that? And the defense, which was pretty good in the first half against the Packers, gave up way too many yards in the second half.

Skol Vikings on the win, but it's time to get back to work and get fired up for Seattle. We will find out how bad they want it at noon on Sunday.
