Cannon Falls, Pine Island and Montgomery Advance in Legion Tournament

Pine Island fell in the winner's bracket Sunday and Kenyon and Elysian-Morristown saw their seasons come to an end in the 3rd District American Legion Division II baseball tournament.

Holy Family downed Pine Island 7-1, sending them to a Saturday morning loser's bracket game against either Montgomery or Norwood.

In the other winner's bracket game, Watertown got by Plato 7-4 with a walk-off three-run homer.

Norwood began the day in Cologne with a 8-0 win over Kenyon to end their season. Montgomery edged Elysian-Morristown 2-1 in the opening game of the day in Norwood.

Belle Plaine stayed alive with a 9-1 win over Le Seuer-Henderson in Norwood and Cannon Falls defeated St. Peter 5-1 in Cologne.

The Cannon Falls team will play Belle Plaine at 7:30PM Friday after Montgomery and Norwood hook up at 5:30PM.

Pine Island plays in Cologne on Saturday at 11AM against the Norwood versus Montgomery winner. In Norwood on Saturday at 11AM, Plato faces the winner of the Cannon Falls versus Belle Plaine game.

The State Division II tournament will be hosted by Le Seuer-Henderson.
