They got their start at St. Olaf College in 1996. And now the nine-member ensemble Cantus, based in the Twin Cities, is returning to their roots to do a performance for Ruth's House of Hope.

The concert is titled "Would You Harbor Me?," and is scheduled to take place on June 28 at 6PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Faribault. The program was specifically designed by Cantus, with help from St. Stephen's Human Services of Minneapolis, as a way to raise awareness about homelessness.

According to the Faribault News, Cantus vocalist Matthew Goinz said it is not often the outfit performs at benefits, so he says this upcoming show is a bit of a rare occurrence.

The program will include photographs and audio clips of those who have experienced homelessness.

The event is free and open to the public but donations to Ruth's House are encouraged.
