You had me at Avocado Tostada.

Chipotle needs this... Badly. Putting it nicely, they've had some swings and misses over the past few years. The first thing that comes to mind is their attempt at queso, only for it to fail rather quickly forcing a redo of the recipe within its first few months. I won't even get into their chorizo debacle... So after those flops, a local malware incident, and a series of health scares in recent years, Chipotle is testing new menu items to lure back it's loyal customers.

I caught wind of them teasing some new menu items back in February, and then last week, Chipotle announced a handful of new items they're putting into action in a test kitchen in New York City. The new items include:

  • Avocado Tostada
  • Nachos
  • Quesadillas
  • Spring Mix Salad with Avocado Citrus Vinaigrette
  • Frozen Paloma: Which is a tangy, boozy twist on a "paloma meets margarita"
  • Mexican Chocolate Shake: Based on traditional Mexican cocoa, this milkshake is rich and creamy, with a hint of cinnamon and spice

I used to be an avid customer of Chipotle's, but haven't gone back as much since the E.Coli scare. I'm hoping they can rebound a bit with this latest overhaul of its menu!
