Recently this video of people who are colorblind seeing color for the first time caught my attention, and I knew I had to share it!

According to mayoclinic.org, colorblindness is usually inherited and is a condition that reduces the ability of a person to determine the differences in colors. Most of the time, this means that shades of red and green are indistinguishable for people with colorblindness, although, occasionally, yellow and blue can be the colors that people cannot separate.

As reported by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, men are much more likely to be diagnosed as colorblind, with 8 percent of men having some degree of colorblindness while 0.5 percent of women are considered colorblind. Colorblindness ranges in severity, with least severe people only being affected by poor lighting, and the most severe, and least common, is to see everything in gray.

With the help of technology, this video shows people experiencing the full range of colors for the first time!
