One of my favorite movies, even though it did not do that well at the box office, was Ladder 49, starring John Travolta, Joaquin Phoenix, Robert Patrick and more. It was filmed in Baltimore. Members of the cast trained with the Baltimore Fire Department, and some members of the department were in the movie. It showed not only in the movie but on the extras on the DVD where they showed some real stories of real Baltimore Fire heroes, the heart of Baltimore.

Even though I have never been there, it seems like it is a cool city. Many movies, TV shows and documentaries have been about Baltimore or filmed there. It was so sad to see all of the unrest and damage around the recent case of Freddie Gray. Why does it always have to erupt over black and white? Why does the assumption exist that the hard-working men and women of the police department are racist and at fault? In this case, it appears police were responsible in part for the man's death. Justice will be served in the end. But why do people have to destroy a city over it?
