Summer is nearly here, the weather is warming up and music will once again fill the air on Thursday evenings in Faribault’s Historic Central Park. This summer’s music schedule boasts 10 nights of free concerts that the community is invited to attend.

Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and friends and family and plan to be at Central Park in Faribault on Thursday evenings this summer. The historic band shell in Faribault provides a great home to a summer tradition. There is no cost to attend the concerts, and the music starts at 7PM each Thursday.

The Paradise Community Band will kick off the summer music series during Heritage Days on June 16. Local favorites Jivin' Ivan & the Kings of Swing take the stage on June 23. June 30 the Fridley City Band performs, on July 7 watch the Gold Star Band from the Mankato area. Playing on July 14 is the New Prague Community Band. July 21 the Owatonna Community Band, considered to be a top regional community band, performs. Dressed in period costume and playing Civil War are music, the Re Bank Reunion Band plays on July 28.  On Aug. 4, sit back and listen to the Bend in the River Big Band from the Twin Cities. Based in Faribault, the Lakelanders Barbershop Choir performs quartet music on Aug. 11, and the season ends with the Bandshell Brass on Aug. 18.

These concerts are a wonderful way to experience the arts, enjoy the nice weather and show your support for Faribault events. Plan to attend and spend an evening or two taking in the concerts in the park this summer!
