Last night the Super Bowl had Twitter all abuzz. It wasn't the game, as that was a snoozer, but Bud Light was running ads that stated it didn't use corn syrup in its manufacturing process unlike Miller Lite and Coors Light. Big Corn didn't appreciate it. The Corn Growers Association was quick to respond to the ad, and then the internet lost its mind.

In a statement to the Wall Street Journal Bud Light's parent company tried walking back the ad:

“Anheuser-Busch fully supports corn growers and will continue to invest in the corn industry. Bud Light’s Super Bowl commercials are only meant to point out a key difference in Bud Light from some other light beers. This effort is to provide consumers transparency and elevate the beer category.” -  Anheuser-Busch InBev

Meanwhile, the internet was losing its mind over the Corn Growers Association's tweet. Here in the heartland of the Midwest, lots of families make a living growing corn and other grains.

It's unclear if there will be any fallout from the ads from farmers or the grain industry. One thing was made clear, don't mess with a farmers livelihood, and you don't mess with big corn.
