Disturbed have just launched a stunning virtual reality experience for their cover of “The Sound of Silence.” Through the website Littlstar, Disturbed fans can delve into a 360 digital world scored by Disturbed’s version of the Simon & Garfunkel classic.

Cover songs are a difficult line to walk, especially when one decides to tackle of the most perfect tracks ever written. Disturbed deserve all the credit in the world for making “The Sound of Silence” work. The re-imagining has actually gone platinum in the U.S. and has accumulated over 125 million views on YouTube.

This new VR experience is set in a dystopian world expanding on the ideas put forth in Disturbed’s official “Sound of Silence” clip. "It was a thrill and a challenge (and maybe a bit ironic) to use the innovative and immersive world of VR to explore the disconnect of direct human connection that results from the addictive world of social media,” says director Matt Mahurin.
