Last Thursday, December 1, the Faribault Main Street organization hosted the 10th annual window decorating contest in downtown Faribault. It was a fun family friendly evening that the entire community was invited to enjoy. The ballots have been counted, and the winners of the decorating contest have officially been announced.

There were 27 participating businesses with windows beautifully decorated competing in the 10th annual window decorating contest in downtown Faribault. Attendees to the event could select their favorite overall window, as well as cast a vote for their favorite window decorated in the theme. This year's theme was "Wrapped in Glory" to tie into the production of the same name showing at the Paradise Center for the Arts this December, and found many people incorporating military images mixed with the iconic Faribault Woolen Mills Blankets. The overall winner this year was Heartman Insurance with a window display showcasing a fireplace with neatly hung stockings. The "Wrapped in Glory" theme winner was Studio 14 Salon and Spa with a window based on the iconic photograph "Raising a Flag on Iwo Jima."

In addition to the window decorating contest, the evening included a chance to meet Santa and take a picture with the man in red, and there were horse-drawn wagon rides available to everyone.

Here are just a couple of the window displays throughout downtown!
