Today is election day! As always KDHL will have your up to the minute election coverage. Earlier today, I took a few minutes and ran up to my local polling place to cast my ballot and earned myself an "I Voted" sticker.

I'm a firm believer in voting. Wars have been fought so that you and I could elect our leaders. The 15th Amendment was added, people like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony struggled to ensure that every American has the right to vote. It takes a short amount of time, but can have a huge impact on the direction of our country. If you were at the polls today- congrats! If you didn't make it, don't let another election pass you by. Get registered, get informed, and cast your ballot in the next election!

I'll leave you with the words of people far more eloquent then myself:

"Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting."

Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country and this world."

Sharon Salzberg

"Voting is the most precious right of every citizen, and we have a moral obligation to ensure the integrity of our voting process."

Hillary Clinton

"Bad officials are the ones elected by good citizens who do not vote."

George Jean Nathan

"Young people need to vote. They need to get out there. Every vote counts. Educate yourself too. Don't just vote. Know what you're voting for, and stand by that."

Nikki Reed

"To make democracy work, we must be a nation of participants, not simply observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain."

Louis L'Amour
