The 39 year old Warsaw man electrocuted during a construction accident in Faribault last Saturday is no longer in critical condition according to authorities.

I spoke with Faribault Police Captain Neal Pederson today and he says Anthony Bendrick was listed in stable condition at North Memorial Hospital in Robbindale.

Faribault Police were joined by Faribault Fire, Rice County Sheriff's Deputies and North Ambulance in responding to a 3:13 p.m. call Saturday for what was initially reported a fire at 17th Street Northwest and Hulett Avenue in Faribault.

Upon arrival first responders learned multiple workers had been electrocuted.

After speaking with various workers it was determined three individuals utilizing boom lifts were installing gutters on a new building when one worker struck a power line, three workers were electrocuted.

Bendrick was one of two workers in cardiac arrest when first responders arrived and CPR was administered to him and the other unresponsive victim.

The other worker, Eric Hunter, 42, of Waterville was transported to Allina-District One Hospital in Faribault but could not be revived.

The third victim was seen but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Three other workers at the site were uninjured.

In fact one of them was able to lower the victims before help arrived.

Captain Pederson says Faribault investigators are working with investigators from Xcel Energy and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

A news release issued by Faribault Police concerning the accident stated all workers were employed by Shane Southard Construction of Waterville, the subcontractor on the project.
