The Elysian-Morristown Bucs Legion team defeated Randolph 3-1 before losing to Watertown 8-6 in the 3rd District American Legion baseball tournament. Elysian-Morristown played both their games in Cologne.

Norwood is the other host of the tournament.

Against Randolph, Dalton Grose picked up the win while scattering six hits. Grose struck out 10 and walked two batters. The only run scored against him came in the third inning.

Randolph's Dylan Anderson walked to open the inning and stole second base. He then went to third on a passed ball and scored when No. 9 hitter Brandon Ratzlaff stroked a single with a 1-2 count. Ratzlaff was sacrificed to second and was held at third after a single by Grant Otte.

Grose struck out the No. 5 hitter looking to end the inning. He had a "mow em down" inning to start the game overpowering the top of the order.

In the fifth after a single by Ratzlaff struck out the top three guys in the order again and ended the game with seven of his 10 strikeouts coming against those top three guys.

Elysian-Morristown scored their first run in the third inning following a one-out double by Brady Boran. Grose was safe by an error putting runners at the corners. Boran would score on a sacrifice fly by Reid Ayers.

Boran ended the game going 4 for 4 at the plate with the double and three singles. He did not play in the second game loss to Watertown.

Grose led the sixth inning with a hit and scored on a passed ball.

Boran scored the third run in the seventh after he singled with one out, Grose doubled and Ayers had another sacrifice fly to score Boran.

Randolph started Anderson on the hill. He scattered six hits and did not get a lot of help from the defense. Randolph had three errors in the game and the Bucs zero.

Elysian-Morristown left eight runners on the bases and four in scoring position while Randolph left six runners on and also had four in scoring position.
