Clarks Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Department is distributing a photo of a masked gunman who robbed a convenience store in the town of Clarks Grove last night. The robbery at the Gopher Stop was reported around 9:30 pm by one of the employees of the business. He told authorities the robber fled on foot and a K-9 officer tracked the suspect to a nearby intersection, but then lost his scent.

Three employees on duty during the holdup reported the robber pulled a gun from his pocket and threatened to shoot them, but did not point the weapon at them. When the suspect turned away from one of the workers, he grabbed his cell phone and called 911. The employee then informed the man that deputies were on their way and the suspect responded by running out of the store empty-handed.

The employees described the suspect as being:
• White male
• In his 20’s
• Skinny/”scrawny” build
• About 6’ tall
• Wearing a clear plastic mask with black markings on the mask, gray hoodie with “Abercrombie” on the front and gray sweatpants

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this case and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 507-377-5200 ext 5.
