Summer is here, the weather is wonderful and music fills the air on Thursday evenings in Faribault's Central Park. This summer's music schedule boasts 10 nights of free concerts that the entire community is invited to attend!

Grab your lawn chairs and plan to be at Central Park in Faribault on Thursday evenings this summer. The historic band shell in Faribault provides a great home to a summer tradition. There is no cost to attend the concerts, and the music starts at 7PM each Thursday. A new addition this year is the En Plein Air artists who will be at Central Park creating works of art inspired by the evening and the music being played.

The Paradise Community Band kicked off the summer music series during Heritage Days, followed by the Minnesota State Band taking the stage on June 25. There are still plenty of performances to enjoy! July 2 the Fridley City Band performs, on July 9 watch the New Prague Community Band, playing on July 16 is the Owatonna Community Band. July 23 is sure to be a fun night as the Lakelanders Barbershop Choir performs, and the Copper Street Brass Quintet plays July 30. On Aug. 6, sit back and listen to the Bend in the River Big Band, Jivin' Ivan and the Kings of Swing put on a show on Aug. 13, and the season ends with the Bandshell Brass on Aug. 20.

These concerts are a wonderful way to experience the arts, enjoy the nice weather and show your support for Faribault events. Plan to attend and spend an evening or two taking in the concerts in the park this summer!

I stopped in and caught park of the performance by the Minnesota State Band and was able to snap this picture.
