Faribault Park & Rec Culture Camp

Culture Camp is a new summer Park & Rec program designed to widen youths' appreciation for cultural diversity and its contributions to society. In this program, children ages 7-13 are introduced to the Wapakute Indians and their customs, language, art, hunting and warfare.
Day I: Ways of the Wapakute Slideshow. Dakota Art & Symbols, Area Camps. Make Dreamcatchers.
Day II: Dakota Language. Pottery, Buffalo & Bald Eagles. Make Peacepipes.
Day III: Native American Stone Tools. Stone Tool display/discussion. Make Tomahawks or Spears.
