River Bend Nature Center will host John Lamprecht, president of the Minnesota Mycological Society, and his wife, Claudette, as they present an exciting program all about mushrooms on Tuesday, August 2, from 5-6:30PM.

The “Mushrooms 101”program will include an informative and entertaining hourlong talk introducing participants to mushrooms followed by a 30- to 45-minute nature hike to find and identify some mushrooms growing in the River Bend Nature Center. Class participants will learn what mushrooms are, how to identify them, where mushrooms get their nutrition, and many other surprising mushroom facts. Participants should dress for the weather and for hiking on and off trail.
