Our daily visits at the Goodhue County Fair continue Thursday with Jim Foss and probably some other special guests on the fairgrounds in Zumbrota.

The weather has been very good, and a tractor pull and truck pull is the featured event in the grandstand at 6:30PM. I'm sure we'll touch on that during our AM Minnesota show courtesy of the Craig Keller Insurance Agency of Nerstrand, Security State Bank of Kenyon and State Farm Insurance Agent Lyle Wendroth, with offices in downtown Zumbrota and Kenyon.

One of the highlights of Family Day is the free (best four-letter word other than love in the English language) ice cream and cookies provided by the Goodhue County Fair Board and Zumbrota Telephone in the evening.

This is a special year for the Goodhue County Fair. According to their historical data, it was 100 years ago when the present grounds were purchased. In 1915, the 16.37 acres were purchased for $3,270. The first seven fairs were held in Red Wing and then for three years Hader hosted the Goodhue County Fair. Downtown Zumbrota hosted it for a number of years.

The Beer Garden Thursday night features Tat Erredge at 7PM. Friday is Senior Citizens Day at the Goodhue County Fair with Ray Sands performing in the Beer Garden at 7P and bull riding, barrel racing and mutton busting featured in the grandstand with a David Lee Murphy concert to follow.

Another Demolition Derby is Saturday evening. Tune in at 9:30AM for details.
