Did you know that September is National Recovery Month? According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Adminstration's (or SAMHSA) Facebook page, "Every September, SAMHSA sponsors Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover."

Communities across the nation will be hosting various events as a way to bring the community together to celebrate the positive impact of recovery from chemical dependency. This Saturday one such event, RecoveryFest will be held in Central Park in Faribault from noon to 9PM. The day will be filled with food, fun and friends. At 1PM find a partner and get in on the bean bag tournament, the kids will have a chance at some bouncy house fun, face painting, making a bead bracelet, painting a wall mural and more. At 3PM try your hand at the euchre tournament and enjoy bottomless coffee and a delicious supper at 5PM. There will also be inspirational speakers and live music to round out the day.

As of this writing, Saturday promises to be a beautiful day, so come celebrate and share in the journey of recovery at RecoveryFest this Saturday in Central Park in Faribault.
