Faribault Area Senior Center Executive Director Mona Kaiser will be the guest on today's KDHL AM Minnesota program.

Earlier this week, Kaiser went before the Faribault City Council meeting as a joint committee and requested the city provide a $230,000 donation toward the proposed expansion of the facility.

No formal vote was taken because it was a joint committee meeting. A majority of the council indicated they could go along with a $152,000 donation.

Kaiser updated those in attendance where the capital campaign presently sits and will share those numbers with all of us today. I know when 90 percent of the $2.1 million goal is reached, the Senior Center will set the wheels in motion for the project.

Kaiser is hopeful the necessary money will be raised by mid-winter so they can break ground in the spring. We will discuss the timeline more on today's show.

If you can't tune in at 9:30AM on KDHL 920 AM go to our YouTube channel and watch the program at your leisure.

Just a reminder, if you head off to somewhere warm in the winter (they call them snowbirds) you can take KDHL with you and still be informed about what's happening in the area.
