The Faribault Falcons boys hockey team was hoping to continue their winning ways Tuesday night but lost in Albert Lea 7-2.  The Tigers were up 3-0 after the first period and added 3 more second period goals to take a commanding 6-1 lead into the final period.  The Falcons were outshot 41-17 in the game.

Faribault went into the game with a power play performing just under 30 percent on the season but the Falcons went 0 for 3 on the power play.  Albert Lea was 0 for 4 on the power play.  The tone was set early when the Tigers scored :20 into the game.  Carson Goodell an even strength goal assisted by Cole Wentzel.  At 3:19 Goodell scored again assisted by Spencer Clark.  Culley Larson got the final goal of the first period assisted by Owen Zelenak.

2:36 into the second period Blake Ulve tallied a Albert Lea goal assisted by Isaiah VanRyswyk and Marcus Dempewolf.  Faribault got it's first goal of the game 8:44 into the second period.  Noah Murphy scored assisted by Lucas Linneman and Owen Williamson.  The Tigers would score the next two goals.  10:04 Campbell Cichosz was assisted by Logan Garr and Jack Edwin. With 46 second to go in the period Albert Lea got another insurance goal from Blake Ulve assisted by Isaiah VanRyswyk.

In the third period at 5:52 Noah Murphy got Faribault's second goal assisted by Zach Slinger and Grady Goodwin.  At 10:54 Isaiah Vanryswyk  scored unassisted.

Junior Jake Dolter was in net for Faribault and stopped 34 shots.  The Tigers goalie was Erik Hareid and he had 15 saves.

The Falcons had 22 minutes in penalties compared to 10 minutes for Albert Lea.
