Faribault Community Co-op Donates to Bethlehem Academy Greenhouse Project

Faribault Bethlehem Academy officials say they were pleased to receive a grant check recently from Kelley Watts of the Community Co-op Association. Watts presented the Agricultural Science class with a check from the Central Harvest States Seeds for Stewardship Grant. That, together with a Community Co-op match, added $7,500 toward the school's greenhouse fund.

Bethlehem Academy leaders say they are proud to be the only Catholic school in Minnesota offering the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) Program. In this program, STEM principles are woven in the context of agriculture. Through hands-on activities, projects, and problems, students experience the science of agriculture, plants, animals, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics and explore career and post-secondary opportunities in agriculture.

The program is open to all Faribault high school students.

In a news release revealing details about the gift Bethlehem Academy states the school is a co-educational, Catholic school in Faribault, Mn. that serves 275 students in grades 6-12. Founded in 1865.
