Faribault Emeralds Dance Team State Send-Off is Thursday

The Faribault Emeralds Dance Team heads to the Twin Cities Thursday afternoon to participate in the State Tournament Friday and Saturday.  It would be awesome to get members of the community to line up from the front door of the high school all the way to the bus taking them out of town.

The send-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.  The Emeralds won the Section High Kick and placed second in the Section Jazz competition.  Jazz routines are performed Friday and the High Kick Competition is Saturday at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.

Tickets are $14.00 for adults and $9.00 for students.  The ticket box opens 10:00 a.m. each morning.

All three Jazz champions return from last year to defend their titles.  Class A-Aitkin, Class AA-Benilde-St. Margaret's if St. Louis Park and Class AAA-Eastview of Apple Valley.

In addition to Faribault in Class 2A, Class 1A Jazz qualifiers include Zumbrota-Mazeppa. In Class 3A Eastview, Lakeville North and Prior Lake all qualified out of Section One.

Jazz competition is Friday and High Kick competition Saturday with the same schedule each day.  Schedule is the same both days.

• Class A qualifying competition- 11:30 a.m. to 1::00 p.m.
• Class A Finalists announced- 1:15 p.m.
• Class AA and AAA Qualifying Competition- 2:00 to 4:15 p.m.
• Class AA Finalists Announced- 4:15 p.m.
• Class AAA Finalists announced- 4:30 p.m.
• Class A Finals and Awards- 5:30 p.m.
• Class AA and AAA Finals and Awards- 7:15 p.m.

All three of the 2017 champions are back to defend their titles in High Kick: Class A-Aitkin, Class AA-Sartell-St. Stephen and Eastview in Class AAA.

Cannon Falls and Randolph compete in the Class A category.  Eastview, Prior Lake and Lakeville North in the Class 3A.
