The Faribault Emeralds Dance Team made it to the finals in Jazz on Friday and placed fifth during the Class AA finals competition.

Benilde-St.Margaret's of St. Louis Park were champions for the eighth time. The Knightettes captured previous titles in 1999, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015.

The defending champions from Totino-Grace of Fridley placed second and Sartell-St. Stephen was third. Rocori, Cold Spring placed fourth, Faribault fifth and Mound Westonka sixth.

The Eastivew Lightning of Apple Valley were Class AAA repeat champions and won their fourth overall. The defending champs from Maple Grove were second and Edina was third. Wayzata finished fourth, Prior Lake fifth and Lakeville North sixth.

In Class A Jazz competition at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Aitkin won the title and defending champ Frazee finished second. Yellow Medicine East of Granite Falls was third, St. Charles fourth, Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd fifth and Marshall School of Duluth sixth.

Three All-Tournament Teams were also selected with each of the six teams in the finals placing. Faribault's Alana Bresnahan and Grace Donahue were named to the Class AA All-Tournament team. Both Emeralds selections are seniors.

Faribault participates in the High Kick competition at 2PM Saturday at the Target Center.
