The Faribault Falcons girls swimming and diving team placed 11th in the Class A state meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center on Friday.

Faribault had 85.5 points. Visitation of Mendota Heights picked up their third straight state title with 312 points. Breck was second with 238 and Albert Lea third with 194. Mankato West finished 19th and Northfield was 27th.

In diving, Falcon senior Lauren Hake finished sixth, making her an All-State performer, and teammate junior Sophia Steinberg finished 11th and is an All-State honorable mention.

Sophomore Bre Bresnahan received All-State status with her eighth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and is honorable mention All-State in the 50 free with a 12th-place finish.

In the breaststroke, Albert Lea senior Lindsay Horejsi swam to a national record during the preliminaries on Thursday. She won the event and also captured first in the 50 free with a new Class A record time.

Sophomore Meghan Gehrke finished 16th in the 100 freestyle, good enough for All-State honorable mention.

Gehrke and Bresnahan also participated in Faribault's 200-yard medley relay team, which swam to a fifth-place All-State finish. Joining them on the relay were sophomore Ahnika Vininski and senior Ana Stepaniak.

Bresnahan, Gehrke and Stepaniak were also on the 200 freestyle relay, which finished eighth and earned them All-State medals along with senior Cora Showers.

Northfield junior Carrin Baker turned in Honorable All-State performances in the 200 individual medley and 100-yard butterfly. Baker was ninth in the IM and 11th in the butterfly.
