The Faribault Falcons, who had just two wins on the season -- over the Austin Packers in the regular-season finale and last Wednesday over Mankato East in the first section playoff game -- lost to a tough Marshall Tiger squad on Tuesday night, 53-13.The Tigers' only loss on the year has been to Belle Plaine in their regular-season finale.

Tiger backup quarterback Trey Lance did a good job of moving their offense. The Falcons could not get much offense going. Joe Jackson had two big returns that almost resulted in scores. Felipe Ramirez got two touchdowns for the Falcons.

The Falcons' season ends at 2-8. The State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault players of the game were the seniors on the team and, after some consideration on the ride home, I thought that Ramirez and Jackson deserved recognition as well.

The Tigers will face Hutchinson in the section championship game on Saturday night in Marshall at 7PM.
