Faribault Fire Chief Dustin Dienst will give us details about Saturday's Open House at the Fire Department on today's AM Minnesota program.

Fire Prevention Week begins Sunday, October 8 and runs through Saturday, October 14.

Chief Dienst says the Faribault Fire Department will begin the recruitment process for hiring paid on-call firefighters and you can learn more about the opportunity during the Open House.

Employment applications, position descriptions, a training photo slide show and informational materials will be available.

Members of the Faribault Fire Department will also be available to answer any questions.

The Faribault Fire Department Open House kicks off Fire Prevention Week.

The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 122 2nd Street NW.

Activities will include:

  • Spray the Fire Hose
  • Kids Get Free Fire Hats
  • Thermal Image Demos
  • Tour the Fire Trucks
  • Try on Firefighter Clothing
  • Smoke House Escapes
  • Kids Agility Course
  • Auto Extrication Demo
  • Free Smoke Detectors
  • Meet Sparky the Fire Dog

Chief Dienst says everyone is welcome to stop by the Fire Department this Saturday for their Open House.
