The Faribault Heritage Days celebration held each June for more than 30 years is in danger of dying due to a lack of volunteers.

The committee is down to just a handful of people, and Faribault Parks and Recreation Director Paul Penansky will discuss the details on today's AM Minnesota show.

The celebration started with the idea of observing the many heritages that make up this historically rich community in Rice County.

The first 20 years or so a different heritage was honored and the theme for the celebration incorporated it. Germans, Norwegians, Native Americans, you get the idea.

In recent years no particular heritage was singled out. In other words ALL the great heritages that make Faribault a great place to live and work were included.

They need volunteers, or Heritage Days will be no more in Faribault. Tune in at 9:30AM for the details.
