Faribault police want our help when people decide to do some off-road riding on city park land.

After concluding our AM Minnesota program with Rice County Fair Secretary John Dvorak last week, he told me the fair board might have to look into fencing off some open grass areas to keep people from tearing up the grass on the fairgrounds.

Faribault police say some person or people have done the same sort of damage in South Alexander Park and want people to report it.

The damage is not limited to one small area either. There are several areas well off any roads where people appeared to have spun around trees causing some deep ruts and tearing up the grass.

We have a terrific park system in Faribault and repairing the damage seen in these pictures I took on Easter Sunday, authorities say, takes resources away from other improvements that could be made.

Faribault police want you to call if you see or hear any of this kind of activity going on so they can catch the culprits.

There are residences not too far away from both of these locations, so I'm sure if you did not see the activity you could certainly hear it. This had to be pretty loud and after calling police, they will simply check it out and hopefully catch the vandals

The general Faribault police number is 334-4305. Put the number in your phone. It might come in handy.

You will notice below the damage is not limited to just a small area in each park.
