The Faribault Falcon volleyball team sent everyone home early Tuesday night after a 3-0 win over the Austin Packers at Nomeland Gym.

Scores were 25-14, 25-19, 25-17 and Faribault wrapped up the win in a little over an hour.

The Packers probably got tired of seeing senior setter Morgan West set up classmates Alexis West and Lauren Isaacson for kill after kill.

Usually Morgan received a perfect pass from senior libero Grace Amacher which is why those four players were chosen for the Faribault State Farm Insurance agents Faribault players of the match.

During the second set Isaacson just crushed a ball that hit Austin senior libero Lauryn Ball right in the face and she popped right up but the down official must have seen some swelling and escorted her to the sideline.

Ball was examined by a trainer and it did appear may have been taken to the hospital so we hope you will keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

The win was a carryover from the Falcon championship performance at a Farmington Tournament on Saturday.

It was the second Big Nine Conference opponent the Falcons swept at home this season and kept their record unblemished in Nomeland Gym.

Faribault goes to Rochester John Marshall Thursday night while Austin is off until next Tuesday when they go to Rochester Century.

Elsewhere in the Big Nine Tuesday night Owatonna edged Winona 3-2 and all other matches were sweeps with Rochester Mayo beating Mankato West, Northfield over Rochester Century, Red Wing downing Mankato East and John Marshall blasing past Albert Lea.

Our next Falcon broadcast will be September 28 when they travel to Red Wing.
