Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn visits KDHL today to discuss farm safety on our AM Minnesota program at 9:30 a.m. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) lists farming as the most dangerous job in the country. Every fall combine fires are experienced during harvest. Grain bin rescues occur every year or tragically people are not rescued. Manure pits can be dangerous. The machinery is more powerful than ever and concentration is a must for operation of it.

Faribault Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Dusty Dienst is at a state conference for Emergency Management Directors and could not join us today.  We will get his thoughts on this topic I'm sure when he joins us for Fire Prevention Week in October.
