Lake City, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is investigating a deadly traffic crash in Wabasha County.

It was reported just after 11:30 Friday morning on Highway 61 several miles south of Lake City. The State Patrol’s preliminary report indicates a southbound pickup truck collided head-on with a northbound semi-truck when the pickup truck crossed the centerline on the highway. The investigation and cleanup at the site of the deadly collision kept a section of Highway 61 closed for over 5 hours. No other information has been released.

The State Patrol has also released preliminary reports on two weather-related rollover crashes that occurred on I-90 this morning. A total of 9 people, including 4 children, were involved in both crashes. The first was reported around 9:15 AM in northeast Mower County about five miles southwest of Stewartville. The State Patrol says a 38-year-old St. Paul woman was driving east on the freeway when she lost control and the vehicle rolled in the median. There were found children, ranging in age from 7 to 15-years-old, inside the vehicle. It was listed as an injury crash, but information about the number of people hurt and the extent of the injuries has not been released.

That information has also not been released about the crash that occurred on westbound I-90 near St. Charles less than an hour later. The State Patrol says four people from the La Crosse area were in an SUV that slid out of control and rolled in the median. The driver was an 18-year-old woman from Onalaska and her passengers were three young women ranging in age from 17 to 21-years-old.
