I finally made it over for the closing hours of the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna last evening. My weekend was pretty busy with the Faribault Main Street Car Cruise Night on Friday Night and Car Club Showdown in downtown Faribault. On Saturday my wife and I had a great time knocking over some pins, eating pizza and playing video games with the grandkids at my grandson bowling birthday party and then afterward we had to run up to the Twin Cities to pick up my granddaughter. On Sunday morning I mowed the lawn and dropped some mulch off at my wife's aunt's for a project to to be taken care of later.

I've got to be honest after running around like that all weekend I crashed for a little nap. When I woke up I felt fully charged and decided I'd better take in Minnesota's largest county fair before the rides were shut down and the concession stands closed up for another season. The midway and food areas were pretty packed as fairgoers hustled from ride to ride with corn dogs, cheese curds, drinks and what-not. I enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the fair and ran into quite a few people that I knew and even took in some of the free music being performed on a couple different stages, which made my visit to the Steele County Free Fair even better.
