Today is the big day (8/12), it's finally here, the ninth annual Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Festival in downtown Faribault. As of this writing the day is going to be perfect for this yearly music filled event, mostly sunny skies and a high right around 77 degrees during the day and partly cloudy skies and cooling off to 55 tonight.

Each year the Paradise Center for the Arts plays host to a twelve hour line-up of bands, which this year include the Home Fires, the Joyann Parker Band, Son of a Bueller, Moses Oakland Quartet and Tim Mahoney and a band all the way from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Element 13. The music starts on the Power 96 Main Stage at 11AM and runs until 11PM tonight. During that time there's a BBQ and home brew competition, food vendors, a beer garden, an art fair and marketplace, a bags tournament, a kid’s activities area and more.

This is one big block party and it only happens once a year on Central Avenue in downtown Faribault. I look forward to this event all summer, I love the music and I really enjoy the food. Kelly K-Rage and myself will be broadcasting live from 11AM to 4PM and talking with the bands. I'm told there will be prizes all day long and I know some of those prizes will be Power 96 t-shirts. Grab the family and join us for the fun of the Blue Collar BBQ and Arts Festival today in downtown Faribault.
