Last Monday, Floyd stopped by with a ham and all the fixings and accessories for me to start prepping an injected ham to bake on the Dakota Grill that I'm trying out from Floyd's Trailer Sales, your local Dakota Grill dealer. He mixed up the basting solution and proceeded to show me the correct way to inject the solution into the ham before turning the syringe over to me to finish the job. It took about 10-15 minutes to fully inject the ham and then we placed it into the fridge to marinate for five to six days. After a couple of days, I flipped the ham over and let it continue soaking.

Sunday morning I got up to get ready to head into work to board op a game for Gordy Kosfeld on Power 96, but before I left I filled the smoker tray with some hickory chips to help intensify the flavor and popped the ham into the Dakota Grill. It was going to take about three hours to fully cook, so after setting the digital temperature on this premium electric grill, along with the meat probes' correct temperature, I set off for work.

While I was at work my wife and daughter-in-law prepared some scalloped potatoes and fresh green beans. By the time I got home my mouth was watering in anticipation of enjoying some delicious smoked ham and I wasn't disappointed. It turned out perfect; the ham was very succulent and tender. After slicing it, I was able to cut it with a fork. About half my family was there and we quickly finished off the ham and most of the potatoes and green beans, too.
