My wife was out of town on Wednesday night so I was left to fend for myself for supper. I had enjoyed my lunch at Country Kitchen so much a couple of weeks ago, I decided to dine there for supper. I was greeted at the door by the new owner, Keny, and she led me over to a table, gave me a menu and returned in a few minutes with a delicious Chocolate S'mores Mocha.

I ordered one of their Lenten specials from the Seafood Splash menu, the Battered Cod and Breaded Shrimp Basket, and proceeded to enjoy my mocha and take in the newly redecorated restaurant. They've freshened up the colors by doing a lot of painting and updated the wall decor creating a pleasant ambiance. My meal arrived quickly and was delicious, hot and quite filling. The cod was lightly battered, the shrimp were appetizing, the coleslaw was sweet and creamy, and my favorite, the Brew City Beer Battered fries, were devouringly delicious. The meal was so filling that I wasn't even hungry for dessert, which is a pity because they have a nice selection including sundaes, pies and a treat dripping with chocolate called Chocolate Molten Madness.

I can't wait to go back again, and you can go, too. Make sure you listen to Power 96 every Friday morning around 7:20AM for your chance to score a $20 Country Kitchen gift certificate to see for yourself just how enjoyable your Faribault Country Kitchen experience can be.
