Each year candy is bought, pumpkins are carved, costumes created and spooky decorations pulled out of storage all to celebrate Halloween. I wanted to know how local KDHL and Power 96 listeners preferred to spend October 31 and asked you to weigh in on a poll. The results are in!

While I know some people love Halloween and plan elaborate costumes months in advance and spend a lot of time creating their attire for the day, I also know quite a few that think the only redeeming quality of Halloween is the clearance candy available on November 1. I land somewhere in the middle. So, where do the people who partook in our poll fall?

The majority of people taking our poll, at 41 percent, all agreed that carving a pumpkin is the best way to spend Halloween. In second place with 24 percent of the vote is visiting a haunted trail, and following in a very close third place with 23 percent is turning off the lights and pretending to be gone. Trailing in last place with just 12 percent of votes is attending or throwing a huge costume party.
