Wednesday, Nov. 11: Yesterday I was back at Allina Health District One Surgery Center for a follow-up colonoscopy. Because of some things that were found back in April they suggested I return around this time, just to doublecheck some things.

I am pleased to report that all is well. A couple of polyps were removed but they look OK and they were sent to the lab for verification.

My thanks to Jennifer, my RN, and the nurses during the procedure and Dr. Bush for his professional and good work. Again I woke while they were still doing some things and I watched some of it on the monitor. Not uncomfortable at all.

I encourage you, especially if you are older than 50, to get this done. It's not really that bad.

And by the way, now they don't want to see me for two years.

Monday, Nov. 9: Back in April, I told you the story of how I went through my first colonoscopy. Everything came out fine. But because of the number of polyps that were found and the size of some of them, I was asked to return again this year. So I have it scheduled for today. I wanted to wait until the fall sports season was about over, but get in before basketball starts. As I write this I have not yet begun my prep work for this time around but will get that done soon.

The last time, got through drinking all of the stuff fine and everything pretty much went as planned. I didn't even realize I had been knocked out a bit. And I woke up watching everything on TV like I was watching some health documentary show or something. So wish me well and I'll let you know Wednesday how things went. Hopefully John takes time for a check up III won't happen for a few years.
