The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights scored 29 points off 25 Randolph turnovers in a 83-51 win in the Castle tonight.

Seniors Savannah Bleess and Mara Quam scored 30 and 28 points respectively in the lopsided victory. Bleess had 22 points at the half and Quam 15 with Kenyon-Wanamingo on top 45-25.

Early in the game it looked like it was going to be a very competitive affair. The Rockets had just five losses coming into the game and 6-foot-1 junior post Hannah Neil was giving the Knights problems with offensive rebound after offensive rebound.

Three Randolph players finished the game in double figures. Sophomore Lindsay Grant and junior Alyssan Whitson had 12 points each and Neil finished the game with 10 points, eight of those came in the first half.

Mara Quam is now 59 points away from 2,000 in her career, which would surpass Kasi Quam (2001) for the school points record. Kasi Quam (not a direct relative) finished her career with 1,951 points.

Savannah Bleess is also closing in on 1,000 career points.

Kenyon-Wanamingo assistant coach Jake Wieme says the pair could hit the milestone on the same night.

The Knights travel to Goodhue tomorrow and I'll have the game on KDHL 920 AM with coverage beginning at 7PM.
